"Madonna di Senale"SANCTUARY

The church of Madonna di Senale (called 'Madonna del Bosco' in German) is one of the oldest Marian sanctuaries in northern Italy.

On the high altar of the majestic Gothic church you can admire the gilded Rococo reliquary with the miraculous image of the 'Madonna and Child' surrounded by angels.

Especially on Sundays and feast days, many people from near and far come on pilgrimage to see this sacred image.

"San Romedio"Val di Non

The Sanctuary of San Romedio is located near Sanzeno in Val di Non and is one of the most interesting examples of medieval Christian art in Trentino.

The sanctuary stands perched on a 70-metre-high spur of limestone rock and consists of several churches and chapels that are adapted to the shape of the huge rock. The oldest church was erected around the year 1000 on the tomb of St Romedio.

This enchanting place full of spirituality was created revolving around the figure of Saint Romedio. According to legend, the saint came to Trento on the back of a bear, which he miraculously tamed..

THE GARDENS OF CASTEL TRAUTTMANSDORFF AND MERANO THERMAL BATHS

The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano, which cover a total area of 12 hectares, bring together in a natural amphitheatre exotic and Mediterranean landscapes, breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain scenery and the nearby town of Merano.

One of South Tyrol's special attractions is undoubtedly the thermal baths of Merano. The new wellness resort, opened in December 2005, is located in the centre of the spa town. Terme Merano has no less than 7,650 m² of indoor thermal facilities, with 15 pools, 8 saunas and steam baths, including the South Tyrolean organic hay sauna.

RIO SASS CANYON

Just 10 km away, in the heart of the village of Fondo, is the Rio Sass Canyon, a gorge carved into the stone by the flowing water of the stream that springs here.

The Canyon divides the centre of the upper Val di Non into two parts.

Since 2001, there has been an easy and atmospheric route inside the gorge, equipped with footbridges, suspension bridges and ladders. Passing between the vertical walls, above the bubbling waters, you will discover waterfalls, stalactites, stalagmites and fossils. The route covers a height difference of 145 metres and includes 348 steps.

THE WAY OF SAINT ROMEDIO

A unique experience to get in touch with nature and with yourself. The Way of St. Romedio is a pilgrimage route, which leads from Thaur in North Tyrol, where it begins, to the Saint's relics in Val di Non. This is another form of tourist attraction that links natural elements with those of spirituality. The route bears the name of the patron saint of pilgrims and hikers, is more than 180 kilometres long and has a total altitude difference of 9600 metres.
